The Team:
Jim Morrow, Mermaid's Artistic
Director, has worked with Mermaid for more than thirty years! Jim has
directed, designed or performed in all of Mermaid's most acclaimed
productions. He has subsequently worked as director, designer and
performer, as well as production manager, instructor and coordinator
of the apprentice program.
Sara Lee Lewis, Managing Director, co-founded the Theatre in 1972 (with Tom Miller and the late Evelyn Garbary) and served in various capacities before assuming the senior management position in 1991.
Lisa M. Gleave is a graduate of Acadia University's Theatre Studies program and has toured nationally and internationally with Mermaid as stage manager. She is the company's General Manager, as well as coordinator for MIPAC (Mermaid Imperial Performing Arts Centre).
Steven Naylor, Artistic Consultant for Music and Sound Design, has been associated with Mermaid Theatre since 1982.
Deborah MacLean, Production Manager, started working part-time in Production in 1994 and joined the team full time in 2001.
Michael Jamieson plays an important role as Technical Director both for Mermaid's touring productions as well as MIPAC.
Cathy White joined the Mermaid team as Administrator in 1992, and oversees the management of the Theatre's financial operations.
Peter F. Smith is Mermaid's Logistics Coordinator as well as International Tour Coordinator. He joined the company in 2004.
Jason Tucker became Mermaid's Administrative Assistant in 2011.
Struan Robertson, Production Associate, has been involved with Mermaid since 2006 in both performance and production.
Sarah Harvey Hart, Production Associate, has been involved with Mermaid since 1996.
Richard Cochran is the Front of House Manager at MIPAC.
Christopher Heide, Director for Youtheatre, masterminds Mermaid's active outreach program for adolescents.
Board of Directors Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia is governed by a community-based Board of Directors, and has an active corps of volunteers who participate in all aspects of the Theatre's operations:
