Hello teachers!
Mermaid Imperial Performing Arts Centre (MIPAC) will announce our 2011/12 Entertainment Series this fall. We will offer a number of young-audience shows throughout the season. While our shows are normally after school hours, this season we will present one of Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia's flagship productions exclusively for school-audiences.
We realize that field-trips are hard to arrange these days, so we wanted to give you lots of advance notice if you're looking for a trip for the upcoming school year. If you're interested in bringing a class to one of our shows, please contact us at puppets@mermaidtheatre.ns.ca or by phone at (902) 798-5841.
"A Brown Bear, a Moon, and a Caterpillar: Treasured Stories by Eric Carle"
Mermaid's much-anticipated new production brings together old favorites and new friends. Featuring evocative music, stunning visual effects and innovative puppetry, the triple-bill celebrates three of Eric Carle's most beloved tales. The Very Hungry Caterpillar joins a whimsical menagerie drawn from the pages of Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? The poignant story of a young girl's unusual quest, Papa, Please Get the Moon For Me, completes a fanciful hour-long production that is guaranteed to entertain and educate a new generation of theatregoers.
Exclusive school-audience shows on:
Friday, June 8, 2012
9:30am and 11:30am
Our performances will take place at MIPAC, 106 Gerrish Street in Windsor. Both shows are approximately 45 minutes with a 10 minute Q&A afterward. Interested teachers please contact us by phone or email, so we can keep track of potential attendance. Our theatre seats about 300 on the main level. There are another 100 seats in the balcony, but we won't open those up unless there is huge demand.
Performances will be done for a low cost of $2 per student, with chaperones and teachers getting in for free! That allows you to save your money for transportation costs or other expenses if you decide to spend the day in Windsor.
Thanks for your support of Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia and Mermaid Imperial Performing Arts Centre!
